Why Soy Wax?

Here are some of the main reasons we love using Soy wax... We believe in keeping our earth safe, getting your money's worth and keeping life simple as!

1. ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY

We choose soy wax because it's made from environmentally friendly, biodegradable and sustainable resources in comparison to paraffin wax which is made from petroleum and is non-renewable.

2. SLOWER BURN = LONGER LASTING CANDLE

Soy wax burns slower than paraffin wax which means your candle lasts longer. Soy candles burn cleaner and emits minimal soot when compared to paraffin wax candles. They are also an excellent fragrance carrier and do not require any chemical amplifiers which means you get a well-balanced scented candle.

3. LONGER BURN

With a lower melting point it means soy wax burns up to 50% longer than paraffin wax candles.

4. EASY TO CLEAN

Last but definitely not least, soy wax spills are much easier to get out of fabrics or table cloths as it is biodegradable, with a simple wipe and its gone. This is a tried and tested benefit - at Candle Creator NZ we've had many spills which we found very easy to clean.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SOY WAX

We've listed some characteristics of soy wax which indicates that your candle has been made with 100% natural soy wax.

Soy candles can appear to look "frosty" around the edges or on top during various temperature changes ie. weather, etc. Sometimes referred to as "blooming", the frosting is actually the soy wax or vegetable oil's crystalisation back to its natural state. This effect does not change the quality of your candle / wax melt / snapbar but is rather a unique process specific to pure soy wax.

Soy candles should be kept out of direct sunlight and ultraviolet light, using a cover or lid, and also be protected from obvious temperature changes as these can all reduce frosting.
Soy candles and wax melts include a natural creamy consistency and appearance, over time it takes on a slight, natural colour from the fragrance the candle has absorbed during the manufacturing process.
Soy candles can also have sweating appearance, which can occur when room temperatures exceed 30 - 32 degrees. Wax will become softer and natural oils may surface on the top in the form of beads which appears as though it's sweating.
